A couple weeks back, I attended a Bobbi Brown beauty event at my local Nordstrom and had my makeup done by Regional Artist, Kim Warren. Typically, these types of events bring on anxiety for me. I like to shop and shop for beauty products, it can be a lot of fun, but it can also be really difficult if the SA or MUA isn't listening to you. I appreciate Bobbi Brown's philosophy of makeup and am continually impressed by the enhanced version of self looks that have that Bobbi stamp, so I decided to give it a go. Kim definitely embodies this mantra in her work and quickly assuaged my fears that I would end up looking like an overdone disaster. She was a delight to work with and pushed me a little bit (digression: eyeliner-it inexplicably freaks me out to draw the line, I could poke my eye out or end up with a black line up to the crease in my eyelid to get it straight or some other awful thing like that. She gave me tips on how to draw the line, correct mistakes, and it wasn't THAT bad ;-) in the end) but kept me looking like myself, just a better, brighter version. She also turned me on to the idea of coordinating your blush and lip color together. Who knew! So pretty. Anyways, we used the color pictured below - Peony. It is described as a bright pink. It is just that, like the vibrant peonies shown below the blush. She paired it with a creamy lip color called Hibiscus, described as a bright candy pink. The two shades paired together so well - I am now a coordinating convert.
